Kia ora e te whānau,
Here are the sports reports from our after school programme this week:
Basketball News
Mairangi Bay Mavericks - Y4 Basketball Team
The Year 4 Mavericks put up a strong fight against Forest Hill Celtics in a defensively dominated game. Both teams made scoring difficult with excellent defensive pressure throughout. The Celtics' superior teamwork and accurate passing proved to be the difference, helping them secure a narrow 10-8 victory over our determined Mavericks.
Player of the Day goes to Mike, who adapted brilliantly and locked in defensively when the team needed him most.
Despite the loss, the Mavericks showed great heart and can be proud of their competitive performance.

Year 2 netball Team Tui burst out of the starting blocks and just didn't stop! The passing was accurate, the girls were moving constantly, and the defenders stuck to their partners like glue. The girls really deserved their 13/0 win against Willow Park Primary School. Congratulations to Isabel Parkinson who received the Sportswoman of the Day Certificate, and Emily Gibbons, who received the Player of the Day Trophy.
Mairangi Bay Bellbirds - Y3 Netball Team
On Saturday, our team Mairangi Bay Bellbirds played Murray’s Bay Mystics and WE WON 5-0. Devanshi was player of the day. Our team did really well at moving the ball fast and getting it to our shooters. It was our last game of the season and we came 4th in our league and we are really proud.
Mairangi Bay Kiwis - Y4 Netball Team
On Saturday, the Kiwis played their final game of the competition against Marina View. After an undefeated season at KidzPlay, the girls were determined to finish strong and hold onto their top spot on the table.
The team rose to the challenge, putting on an impressive display of skill and teamwork. The midcourt showed great speed, the shooters were accurate under pressure, and the defenders consistently shut down Marina View’s attack with outstanding interceptions. Congratulations to our Players of the Day, Lucia Foden and Leah Davies

Mairangi Bay Marlins - Y4 Water Polo Team
MBS Marlins vs Beach Haven Bonitas
We won the game with a final score of 8–0. Zara, Wylie, Cole, and I scored some great goals. We played very well, with a strong defense that didn’t allow the ball near our goal. Just like our defenders, our midfielders and strikers played a key role in moving the ball to the other side of the pool and scoring goals. At the end of the game, Zara and I were awarded Players of the Day for being in good positions and scoring great goals.
