Kia ora e te whānau, and tamariki mā,
It has been wonderful to see our kura alive with energy, connection, and purposeful learning over the past few weeks. There is a strong sense of belonging across the school, with our tamariki embracing opportunities to grow, share, and challenge themselves in meaningful ways.
Thank you to the many whānau who joined us for our student-led conferences last week. Seeing our learners confidently talk about their progress, reflect on their goals, and celebrate their achievements alongside you was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. Your presence and encouragement continue to strengthen the partnership between home and school, helping every child feel supported and valued in their learning journey.
It has also been fantastic to see so many whānau supporting our classroom programs. Whether in learning spaces, on trips, or behind the scenes, your contribution plays an important role in creating a rich and connected environment for our ākonga. This sense of collective effort reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to helping every learner succeed.
Across the school, learning has been vibrant, engaging, and connected to the world around us. Our zoo visits have brought inquiry learning to life, allowing students to explore animals, habitats, and global connections in authentic ways, building on the learning focus outlined in our team programs. At the same time, our cluster swimming competition showcased the determination, resilience, and teamwork of our students as they proudly represented our kura in the wider community. Back at school, our garden-to-table program continues to flourish, giving students hands-on experiences that connect sustainability, wellbeing, and real-world learning.
Across both our Teina and Tuakana teams, students are exploring how people, places, and environments are connected, developing curiosity and understanding through a range of rich learning experiences. These opportunities are helping our tamariki to grow not only academically, but also as confident, capable, and connected learners.
As we move further into the term, there is a great deal to look forward to. We are excited to continue building on this momentum, creating opportunities for our students to be motivated in their learning, brave in taking on new challenges, and sincere in their contributions to our school community.
Together, we are creating a learning environment where every child is known, supported, and inspired to achieve their very best.
He nui ake tō mātou mana i te kura anake — we are more than just a school.
