Flippa Ball is a modified version of water polo for beginners aged between 8 and 12 years. It is a fun, simple game, all children can enjoy regardless of their height or gender. Reasonable swimming ability and water confidence are highly recommended. Games are played in the shallow end of the pool so that the children may use the bottom of the pool at times to rest and for added security and safety (as teams become more experienced they will progress to deeper water).

Through participation in Flippa Ball, children will learn and develop skills required for Water Polo at an Intermediate School level

It is the coach’s responsibility to attend their team’s games and to provide support and guidance where necessary. There are generally no practices (but this is dependent upon the team), players learn in the pool during game time. The Millennium may run some beginner clinics during the term.

The coach will work alongside the team Manager to ensure all children are informed of their weekly game time and positions for each game.

The coach must ensure that the students sign the Code of Conduct form before the competition begins.

The role of the Manager is to collate team information and inform parents and children weekly of their game times. The managers will work alongside the team coach and attend their team’s games

Managers will be required to contact the Sports Coordinator if there are any team changes and to confirm the team’s re-registration.

Suitable swimwear, no watches or jewellery. Caps & ball provided at the pool.
