Principal’s Message

Kia orana

You may have noticed a new flag flying at school. This week we celebrate Cook Island Maori language week. The Rev Dr Tokerau Joseph has provided help with simple vocab and his whanau will share more of the Cook Islands culture at Friday’s school assembly. All welcome.

Thank you for the feedback supporting the move to make the school values more explicit. Respect, kindness, and resilience will underpin everything we do. Thank you to all of you who are making the connections at home when you see your kids enact these values. With this alignment between home and school we can do great things!

Mei taki

Bruce Warren, Principal

Kia hikaka, kia maia, kia pono te ngakau.

School Notices

Welcome to our new students and their families

Johann Kwok and Inaaya Charmania

Agathis Ave: no car drop-offs and pick-ups

If you drive your kids to school please use the Galaxy Drive drop off zone. We have two of us supervising this each afternoon. Agathis Ave is not supervised. It is a dedicated pedestrian gateway. We have been told some parents have missed this message and are even stopping on broken yellow lines. This is illegal and unsafe. Always choose safety over convenience.

Can you have your kids join a walking school bus? See below.

School Cross Country Thursday 13 August  from 1 pm
The plan is to run our youngest children first. Everyone is welcome. There is no need to sign in at the office for this event as we usually have big numbers on site. If you wish to take your child home early you must check-in with the classroom teacher.
The interschool (super) cross country has this year been scheduled earlier so it has necessitated that the Year 5-6 team be selected on training form, not the school event.
  • Junior races from 1.10 until 1.30
  • Year 3 girls will start at 1.30
  • Year 3 boys will start at 1.35
  • Year 4 girls will start at 1.40
  • Year 4 boys will start at 1.45.
  • Year 5 girls will start at 1.55 (subject to the Year 4 boys all having finished)
  • Year 5 boys will start at 2.00
  • Year 6 girls start at 2.15
  • Year 6 boys start at 2.20
  • Presentations  at 2.40 on the turf

Please note that these times are approximate and circumstances on the day may necessitate changes.

Mid Year Interviews 19-20 August

You will be emailed next Monday with an invitation to book for your online interview. Look out for it.
