Principal’s Message

Kia ora tatou

I am delighted to see our children back at school with their friends and teachers. There were lots of smiles around the place before school started..and from the parents too. 🙂

Congratulations to our latest school value cup winners. As COVID interrupted our first term, two sets of children who have demonstrated outstanding values, were acknowledged.

Term 1: Charlie Lindsay, Ruby Ullrich, Isobel Stoner, YanXi Liu, Liya Suo

Term 2: Flo Tucker, Mia Rajaratnam, Nancy Zhang, Charlotte Hollis, Max Casey, Meya Yu

We have the first stage of the upgrade to our Room 1-4 block completed in the holidays. The new joinery and double doors, with picnic tables made by Paul Loader, provide options for teachers to have groups of children working outdoors when the weather permits. The proposed shade canopy over the main court will add to this functionality when it is erected later in the year.
On Friday 31 July at 9am I would love to chat with anyone who has more ideas on how we can continue to improve our school. The EduCafe session is an opportunity to talk with me about school or education matters.
We have a wonderful term of learning ahead.

Staff changes

This term we welcome Mrs Donata Gray who is teaching Room 9. Mrs Tania Davey has been reappointed to teach Room 18  for terms 3-4 to provide more time for Ms Nikki Black to get well. Mrs Claire Worthington-Blair is now acting deputy principal. In the final week of term, Mrs Jeanette Smail was farewelled appropriately after 16 years serving our community.

Our Garden to Table specialist vacancies have been filled by people who have been serving as volunteers for this programme. Mrs Cheong Hyoseun (Sunny) and Mrs Melissa Waters have been appointed to the fixed-term part-time roles of kitchen and garden specialist respectively for terms 3-4. Mrs Siobhan Cooper continues to coordinate the programme in a volunteer capacity.

School photographs NEXT Thursday

These photos are for each class and the individual child. A pamphlet has been sent home today. The winter school uniform is essential (not the sports one).
