Mrs Smail’s farewell assembly reminder
Everyone is welcome to join us at 2 pm on Wednesday in the hall to celebrate a wonderful career and thank Mrs Smail for her efforts over the last 16 years in service to our school and community.
Garden to Table restarts
We have appointed Sunny Cheong as our kitchen specialist and Mel Waters as our garden specialist. Both of these parents have been regular helpers for this programme and understand very well what it is they need to do to get things up and running again for Term 3. Welcome, Sunny and Mel!
Lockdown learning ..sorry
The messages to parents for the start and end of our lockdown practice were posted directly to the school website. They will also be emailed to you next time. Sorry, an oversight. And then you will be expected to check the website for any updates in a real lockdown. Make sure firstname.lastname@example.org has your current email address.
Thank you for helping make SLCs a positive experience for our kids. I asked at assembly last week and a huge number indicated they enjoyed it. They love showing you their classroom and talking about what they are learning.
You will have time to chat with teachers in Week 5 next term for mid-year interviews. A short report will be available before that.
‘Auckland is my Playground’ Goose Chase game..holiday fun
A fun game for the holidays. Be in to win. Download the GooseChase app. Search ‘#AKLPlay’ Check this link: AKLPlay. Thanks, Jacquelyn Collins
Road safety..how to cross the road.
Please take the time to reinforce the safety messages about crossing roads. I have been told we have some children who cross Matipo Road, sometimes without checking both ways. If you expect them to cross without you they should have clear instructions to use the school controlled crossing. If this is not possible, please show them the safest places to cross and how to do this safely.
Please check that your child has not left uniform items at school.
Assembly Friday 11 am
This is the end of term assembly which will include the presentation of values cups and the Year 6 speech cup. You are welcome to join us.
Finish at 3 pm Friday for the holidays
We finish at 3pm on Friday. Our teachers and support staff (and kids!) are all ready for a fortnight’s break, a chance to rest and recharge after what has been a remarkable period in our history. Thank you again to all our staff. You have kept our kid’s wellbeing front and centre. Thank you, parents. You have supported our kids through it.
Enjoy the holidays. Stay well and we’ll see everyone back on Monday 20 July.
Kia hikaka, kia maia, kia pono te ngakau.
