We have now completed the allocation of devices for the families who requested them and they have been collected. We had no children of essential workers attend today so the school is now locked up.
Teachers met again today and I can confirm that online home learning is underway. Teachers are now working from home.
If you have a Year 5 or Year 6 student, check in with your child to see what the classroom teacher is providing your child via Google Classroom.
If your child is Year 1-Year 4 you will receive a unique code to allow you access to Seesaw and the home learning your child’s teacher is creating. You will then need to share this with your child.
Please note the government has moved the school holidays so our home learning is being trialed this week. The holidays start next week. Teachers are helping by providing some activities you might want to try in the holidays but this is not a daily home learning programme. The Ministry of Education is developing further online learning resources in the holidays for teachers to access so we can then provide home learning in the first two weeks of Term 2 and possibly longer. I thank our teachers for the work done getting ready for online learning while still teaching their classes.
I hope that your preparations for Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown are going to plan. This short video from Nathan Wallis outlines just three simple things to talk with your children about. It may well be helpful.
