Your Board of Trustees is meeting today to determine further measures the school can take to protect our community from Covid-19. The decisions made will be communicated to you tomorrow by email. I will also continue to send you updates by email as we navigate through these unprecedented challenges.
Thank you to the Year 5-6 teaching team and all of the parents who helped to make our week at MERC Long Bay such a success. I was pleased to see so many children being brave and pushing through to achieve more than they thought they could. It was also exciting to see so many children supporting their peers to make that extra effort. As one of the boys who got to the top of the ladder climb said when I congratulated him. “It was hard but I just kept thinking MBS..(Motivated, Brave, Sincere) ..mostly the B! ” There is a slide show of Camp photos on the Camp website.
What do parents and teachers think about the new Meet the Teacher timing we tried this year? The Digital Curriculum has landed here and it is not just about robotics. What is Ruma Matihiko? It includes unplugged learning. Check out the one page reports on Meet the Teacher and the Digital Curriculum. I have also included a brief report on BYOD which includes comments from parents.

Congratulations to our Year 4 cricket team who attended the Takapuna Cricket Primary Schools tournament on the 11th March. They won their first three matches and made it into the final against Campbells Bay. The boys placed first and came away winners of the Sir Richard Hadlee Cup. So proud of the way the team represented our school. Thank you to all the parents who came and supported our team!
A big congratulations also to our tennis team who represented Mairangi Bay at the Super Cluster tournament on March 6th. They all played amazingly. A special mention goes to Leo Carson and Zaria Ruby who both placed 2nd in the singles category. Bailey Shazell and Charlie Lindsay also placed 2nd in the doubles. Well done!
