Dear Parent / Caregiver
UPDATE: Novel coronavirus
As you will have seen in the media the situation is rapidly evolving internationally.
This is a new virus and its specific nature is currently unclear, however it appears that you can have the virus at an early stage without showing any symptoms. This incubation period is currently considered to be 14 days.
这是一种新型病毒, 它的属性尚未查明。有可能病毒携带者处于早期阶段，而不表现出任何症状。 目前公认的潜伏期为14 天。
We are closely monitoring information provided by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and following their advice. We ask that all students who have been exposed to the virus via a visit to China or who have had contact while travelling with someone who has potentially been exposed to Coronavirus, to remain off school for 14 days following their date of arrival into New Zealand.
The school will open as normal for all other students on Monday 3 February.
The quarantine includes the Meet the Teacher interviews on Friday this week. Please notify our office if you are now not able to attend so that we can arrange another time early in the term.
We thank our supportive and proactive Chinese community and acknowledge their real concern. Thank you to those who have already indicated their support around voluntary self-quarantine and we welcome further relevant information from those families affected. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org

- 如果有发烧, 咳嗽, 呼吸困难的症状，请抓紧寻求医疗诊断治疗，并请向医疗机构提供旅行记录。
Our teachers will be emphasising to their students the importance of these hygiene measures; each classroom has hand sanitizer; and the bathrooms have flowing soap and paper towels. Our cleaners will be focusing on high volume areas such as door handles, desks and chairs.
If and when there is further advice, I will email you. Thank you for your co-operation.
Bruce Warren, Principal
