Principal’s Message
Kia ora tātou
Congratulations to our marimba groups for representing our school so well at the Auckland Marimba Festival on Saturday. You did us proud. Thank you to all the parents who supported this event and to Clare McCormack who makes this wonderful opportunity possible for our children and prepares them so well.
This week we will be practising our lockdown procedures. We do not talk to children about any risks other than a storm or swarm of bees because we do not want to feed fertile imaginations and create unnecessary anxiety. We ask you to do this at home too. If the school goes into lockdown you will be emailed. You are asked to stay away from school and to visit our website for updates. Our children understand what to do and have always responded appropriately and impressed the consultant who oversees the practice.
September signals Spring and the sunshine is very welcome. There are smiles aplenty at Mairangi Bay School as we enjoy this weather and look forward to longer days and warmer temperatures.
Look out for a communication from Scott Walker, Board of Trustees Chair. It is coming to you soon, introducing the new Board that serves you.
Have a great week.
Nāku noa, nā

School Notices
Welcome to..
Our new students and their families: Daniel Hu, Olivia Lee, Martha Xu, Reina Kim, Steven Sun, Ethan Zuo and Brooke Walenkamp.
ICAS Update
Due to technical difficulties on the Australian side, we have been unable to upload our students to the ICAS website. We are endeavouring to solve this issue. Many other local schools are also experiencing the same problems. If you are a parent who is expecting their child to do ICAS Digital Technologies and/or Science tests this week, the school will keep you informed via email.

Our Walking School Bus entered a competition with Auckland Transport and were lucky enough to win hot chocolate at school this morning.
Thanks AT!
