Principal’s Message

Hello everyone

The PTA Bingo night was a great success. Thank you to our organisers and to all of you who supported the event by turning up and making it such a fun event.

We look forward to the student-led conferences this week when each of our children has the opportunity to talk to you in their classroom about their learning. This is not easy for all children and certainly something that improves with practice.  We believe that it is important for children to be able to explain what they are learning. Thank you for supporting your child in this endeavour.  Do ask your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the process.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the school vision; the concepts, the wording and the graphics. The visuals are now up on our website.  https://www.mairangibay.school.nz/vision/  We continue to make the vision and values real each day at Mairangi Bay School.  Your child can show you the actions for Kia hikaka, kia māia, kia pono te ngakau./ Be motivated, be brave, be sincere.

Nāku noa, nā Bruce

Bruce Warren, Principal.

Kia hikaka, kia māia, kia pono te ngakau.

Year 6 Leaving Ceremony

For those who like to plan well ahead. We have fixed the date. The Year 6 Leaving Ceremony (formerly called Graduation) is Tuesday 17 December 6 pm. Note that a couple of parents emailed that our original intention to have this ceremony in school time would make it difficult for some parents to attend and we agree. The ceremony will be 6-7 pm followed by a fun onsite event just for Year 6 students and their parents. More details to follow.
